Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lantern Capital website at lanterncapital.com, our subscription services, newsletters, research content, and the Lantern Daily Economic Index ("LDEI") data (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our Services.

Please also review our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Description of Services

Lantern Capital provides the following Services:

  • Research and newsletter: Daily pre-market analysis of the U.S. Treasury market, authored by Eric Hickman, delivered via email and accessible through the website.
  • LDEI Index data: Access to the proprietary Lantern Daily Economic Index, including current values, historical data, and CSV data downloads. The LDEI is also available on the Bloomberg Terminal under the ticker LTRNLDEI <Index>.
  • Insights archive: A library of published research accessible to subscribers. Non-subscribers may access a delayed archive of selected content.
  • Premium services: For Premium subscribers, additional services including custom research requests and direct access to Eric Hickman.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use our Services. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

Account Registration

To access subscription features, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share them with others.
  • Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

Lantern Capital reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at its sole discretion, including for violation of these Terms.

Subscription Plans and Billing

Plans

Lantern Capital offers subscription plans at prices and with features described on our Pricing page. Plans and pricing are subject to change; any changes will be communicated to existing subscribers before taking effect on their next billing cycle.

Free Trial

New subscribers may be eligible for a free trial period as described on the Pricing page. At the end of the trial, your subscription will begin and you will be billed unless you cancel before the trial expires.

Billing and Payment

All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis according to your chosen plan (monthly or annual). You are responsible for keeping your payment information current.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon cancellation:

  • You will retain access to your subscription features until the end of your current billing period.
  • Your subscription will not renew at the end of the current period.
  • No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing period.

Refunds

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. If you believe you have been billed in error, please contact us within 30 days of the charge and we will review your request.

Intellectual Property

Lantern Capital Content

All content published by Lantern Capital, including but not limited to research insights, newsletters, market commentary, data analysis, charts, graphics, website design, and the LDEI Index and its methodology, is the exclusive property of Lantern Capital and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

LDEI Index

The Lantern Daily Economic Index, including its name, methodology, values, and all associated data, is proprietary to Lantern Capital. The LDEI is made available on the Bloomberg Terminal under a distribution arrangement, but all intellectual property rights remain with Lantern Capital. Bloomberg's distribution of the LDEI does not transfer any ownership rights or imply any endorsement by Bloomberg.

Permitted Use

As a subscriber, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use our content for your own personal or internal business purposes. You may:

  • Read and reference our research in your own investment analysis.
  • Download LDEI data for your personal or internal analytical use.
  • Share brief excerpts (no more than two sentences) with proper attribution to "Lantern Capital" and a link to our website.

Prohibited Use

You may not:

  • Redistribute, republish, forward, or resell our newsletters, research, or LDEI data to any third party, whether for free or for compensation.
  • Share your account credentials or allow others to access the Services through your account.
  • Use our content or LDEI data to create competing products, indices, newsletters, or services.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access or extract content from our website.
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.
  • Use our content in any manner that suggests Lantern Capital endorses or is affiliated with your products, services, or views.

Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate termination of your account and subscription without refund, and Lantern Capital reserves the right to pursue legal remedies for any damages.

Acceptable Use

When using our Services, you agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services, other accounts, or systems connected to our Services.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services.
  • Transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful content through the Services.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES, INCLUDING ALL CONTENT, DATA, AND THE LDEI, ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. LANTERN CAPITAL EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

LANTERN CAPITAL DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR TIMELINESS OF ANY CONTENT OR DATA, INCLUDING LDEI VALUES.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LANTERN CAPITAL, ITS FOUNDER, EMPLOYEES, AFFILIATES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, OR INVESTMENT LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.

IN NO EVENT SHALL LANTERN CAPITAL'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO LANTERN CAPITAL IN SUBSCRIPTION FEES DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lantern Capital, its founder, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

Modifications to the Services

Lantern Capital reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services at any time, including the availability of any content, feature, or LDEI data. We will make reasonable efforts to notify subscribers of material changes, but we are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Services.

Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via email. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should discontinue use of the Services and cancel your subscription.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Colorado. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions of these Terms remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lantern Capital regarding the use of the Services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.
